Quickstart guide

Get from first tap to reliable runs, fast.

These instructions match the current Lab Leap build: single-thumb jumping, bark cooldown management, a five-ball Zoomies meter, and offline play on both iOS and Android once the game is installed.

Start here

First-minute setup

  1. Launch the game and choose Play from the main menu.
  2. Tap once to start the run. That same tap control handles every jump.
  3. Gameplay does not require Wi-Fi or mobile data after install, so you can start a run anywhere.
  4. Stay airborne and clear the next obstacle before worrying about score routes.
  5. When the bark button lights up, keep it ready for crows or squirrels in front of you.

Controls

What each input does

  • Tap the main play area: Bound upward immediately.
  • Tap the bark button: Scatter crows and squirrels ahead of the dog.
  • Tap the Zoomies meter when full: Trigger five seconds of invincibility and double score.
  • Pause: Use the pause control when you need to step out without losing your run.

Scoring

How to build points efficiently

  • Passing obstacles safely increases your score.
  • Tennis balls also add score, so a clean line through the course matters.
  • Five tennis balls fill the Zoomies meter.
  • During Zoomies, every scoring event doubles, which makes dense sections the best time to cash in.

Bark timing

Use it to save runs, not to decorate them

  • The bark button has a 1.2 second recharge.
  • It only clears crows and squirrels ahead of the dog, not static yard obstacles.
  • If the path is already open, save the bark for the next moving threat.
  • During a crowded sequence, bark first and then trigger Zoomies if the line still closes down.

Obstacle tips

What usually ends a good run

  • Fences and gnomes: Treat them as timing checks. Late taps are the usual mistake.
  • Clotheslines: Commit to the gap early rather than correcting inside it.
  • Sprinklers and pools: Hold a cleaner line with earlier jumps so you do not sink back into the hazard.
  • Crows and squirrels: Keep bark available whenever a moving threat is likely to overlap your jump route.
